Software Engineer (Java/Angular/Kubernetes)

PrivaSphere seeks a Mid-level Software Engineer in Zürich to build secure, scalable encrypted email and application platforms using Java, Angular, and Kubernetes.

PrivaSphere is a Swiss technology firm developing a secure, scalable platform for encrypted email and online applications. This position plays a key role in supporting the company's international expansion by designing and maintaining reliable, secure, and user-centric systems from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Develop both front-end and back-end components of the PrivaSphere technology platform.
• Transform the current specialized service into a mass-market, commercial global offering.
• Implement new features and potentially launch additional product lines.
• Maintain a high-standard automated security testing framework to ensure quality and streamline regression testing.
• Create and update technical documentation to support a growing development team and facilitate audits.
• Collaborate with the Sales department to present new functionalities to clients.
• Provide technical support to the COO on various operational matters.
• Enhance DevOps practices, including continuous deployment and system hardening.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java, RDBMS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, CSS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of Java ecosystems, including Tomcat, JSP, JDBC, and JavaMail.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities.
• Willingness to relocate to the Zürich area for long-term employment.
• Capability to conceptualize and advance technological solutions.
• Self-motivated individual with a relentless drive for high performance, particularly in security and user experience, suited for a growth-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in IT security and cryptography, such as JSSE, JCE, openssl, gnupg, or BouncyCastle.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools like JUnit or Cypress.
• Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., Postfix) and basic Linux/Windows administration skills.
