Speechify seeks a Mid-level Software Engineer for its Platform team in Lausanne. The role focuses on backend development using TypeScript/Node.js and GCP, supporting the company's mission to remove reading barriers.
This position supports the Platform team, which is responsible for building and maintaining all backend services. The role is designed for a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced settings and is passionate about creating user experiences that delight customers while making informed product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and sustain robust APIs, including public TTS endpoints and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and usage tracking, ensuring they satisfy business and scalability needs.
- Manage the entire backend API ecosystem, continuously improving performance and code maintainability.
- Partner with cross-functional groups to ensure backend architecture aligns with the broader product strategy and enhances user experience.
- Collaborate on B2B solutions, addressing customization and integration requirements for enterprise clients.
Requirements
- Demonstrated background in backend development with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with familiarity with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
Nice to have
- Experience using Docker for containerized deployments.
- Skill in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes.
