Software Engineer (Remote - Work from Anywhere)

Xapo seeks a Mid-level Software Engineer to design and deploy secure, scalable backend services for its global platform. The role is fully remote, based in CH, and involves ownership of services from design to production, with support from senior engineers.

As a Software Engineer at Xapo, you will contribute to shaping the future of the company’s technology by building secure, fault-tolerant backend services used by millions. You will take full ownership of your team’s services, from initial design to ongoing operations, while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services that are secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable for millions of users.
• Own the full lifecycle of services your team creates, from initial design to production operations.
• Join one of four business domains: Wealth Management Team (WMT), Financial Crime Prevention (FCP), Customer Acquisition and Retention (CAR), or Member Money Movement (MMM).
• Support the Wealth Management Team (WMT) in enabling members to access investment products and grow their wealth responsibly.
• Contribute to the Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) team by helping protect members and the business from financial crime, including fraud detection and compliance services.
• Work with the Customer Acquisition and Retention (CAR) team to support the full customer journey, from onboarding to long-term engagement.
• Join the Member Money Movement (MMM) team to enable seamless interactions between fiat and crypto in a secure banking environment.

Requirements

• Solid background in software engineering with proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred).
• Strong collaborative skills and effective communication, thriving in team settings.
• Basic knowledge of microservices, cloud-native patterns, and container-based applications.
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing.
• Interest in architectural concepts such as Event-Driven Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
• Growth mindset: proactive, eager to learn, and passionate about solving complex problems at the intersection of traditional finance and Bitcoin.
