Id Quantique seeks a Staff R&D Project Manager in Geneva to lead SNSPD system development, ensuring successful execution of new product programmes and cross-functional alignment.

This position is dedicated to advancing next-generation SNSPD platforms and solutions. The successful candidate will own the execution of new product programmes within the Quantum Detection System roadmap, ensuring that development efforts are delivered successfully and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete delivery lifecycle for SNSPD system development projects.
  • Foster collaboration and alignment among various technical departments.
  • Create regular reporting structures and provide transparent updates to executive leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and ensure designs are practical and ready for manufacturing.
  • Direct Electronics, FPGA, and Firmware groups toward successful integration.
  • Convert intricate technical tasks into actionable plans, clear milestones, and reliable delivery timelines.
  • Organize and chair programme meetings, including status reviews, dashboards, risk tracking, and decision frameworks.
  • Offer daily coordination, technical direction, and priority management for engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Cryogeny, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience managing complex hardware programmes, preferably within optoelectronics or detection systems.
  • Solid grasp of optical/photonic products and the constraints involved in system integration.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to planning, forecasting, and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication abilities to align diverse stakeholders and drive decisions.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Twelve or more years of experience delivering complex hardware programmes with strong technical expertise.
  • Proven ability to guide or lead small engineering teams in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics design, FPGA development, or embedded firmware.
  • Knowledge of optical or photonic components, nanofabrication, chip encapsulation, integrated circuits, or cryogenic hardware.
