Study Director - Analytical department

The company seeks a Study Director for its analytical department in Witterswil, CH, to lead aquatic ecotoxicology and physicochemical studies. This mid-level, full-time hybrid role requires a chemistry background and expertise in chromatographic techniques.

The company is looking for a Study Director to manage analytical studies focused on aquatic ecotoxicology and physicochemical properties. The role involves directing research on agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemicals while ensuring compliance with OECD guidelines and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

Responsibilities

• Direct analytical studies on aquatic ecotoxicology and physicochemical properties according to OECD standards.
• Conduct residue analysis of aqueous and sediment samples from laboratory tests.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods.
• Evaluate study outcomes and prepare detailed reports.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
• Oversee lab technicians and manage study-related personnel responsibilities.
• Ensure all work adheres to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in chemistry with a strong emphasis on analytical chemistry.
• Professional experience in analytical chemistry.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC, HPLC/MS) and sample preparation.
• Experience with trace level analytical work.
• Solid understanding of the environmental behavior of chemicals.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, plus verbal communication skills in German.
