System Engineer CBTC

Stadler Bussnang AG seeks a Mid-level System Engineer for CBTC systems in Wallisellen, CH. The role involves aligning customer needs with product standards, managing requirements, and supporting project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into specific system descriptions that align with the generic product line.
• Develop project-specific documentation, including interface specifications, user manuals, release notes, and bills of materials.
• Configure CBTC sub-systems to match both system requirements and unique project characteristics.
• Assist with assembly, installation, testing, commissioning, homologation, and other project phases.
• Collaborate with internal departments, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in bid teams to finalize technical proposals, ensuring customer requirements are satisfied while maintaining alignment with standard products.

Requirements

• A completed technical degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science (from ETH, TU, or FH) or equivalent training.
• Several years of project experience within the railway signaling sector.
• Solid understanding of railway signaling principles, specifically CBTC and/or mainline interlocking.
• Hands-on experience with requirements management using IBM Doors Next Generation (DNG).
• Fluent proficiency in both English and French, written and spoken.
• Strong teamwork skills combined with independence, goal orientation, and a solution-focused mindset.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Previous involvement in CBTC projects.
• German language skills.
