Responsibilities
- Create and assemble specialized test equipment, including jigs and fixtures, for mechanical and mechatronic parts.
- Perform various practical tests, covering structural integrity and safety behaviors.
- Write and upkeep Python scripts to automate testing processes, manage hardware, and record essential data.
- Review test results to spot failure patterns, performance limits, and opportunities for design enhancements.
- Partner with mechanical and electronics engineers to grasp component specs and share actionable feedback from test outcomes.
- Thoroughly record test methods, configurations, and results to guarantee repeatability and facilitate knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- Hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Demonstrate practical experience in constructing and assembling mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Possess deep knowledge of testing protocols within product development cycles.
- Be proficient in scripting languages such as Python for automation, device control, or data analysis tasks.
- Work autonomously in a workshop setting while safely operating standard hand and power tools.
- Exhibit strong analytical abilities and a meticulous, detail-focused approach.
Nice to have
- Practical familiarity with ROS or ROS2 frameworks.
- Experience using CAD programs like SolidWorks or Fusion 360 to design test fixtures.
- Knowledge of data acquisition hardware and sensors such as load cells, encoders, or thermocouples.
