Trade Compliance Expert

The company seeks a Trade Compliance Expert in Villars-sur-Glane, Switzerland, to manage customs regulations, free trade agreements, and compliance training within a luxury sector environment.

This position supports a dynamic team of intrapreneurs dedicated to operational excellence. The role centers on navigating customs regulations and free trade agreements to ensure robust trade compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Track customs rules and free trade agreements, evaluate potential risks and business effects, and manage escalation procedures.
• Design and lead training sessions for large groups on customs operations excellence and the application of free trade agreements.
• Collaborate with project managers to implement large-scale initiatives focused on customs operations and free trade agreement management.
• Draft or assist in creating high-level memos, guidance documents, directives, tools, educational materials, and internal social media content related to trade compliance.
• Develop and share specialized knowledge on trade compliance to assist international stakeholders within the group.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, including industry associations, consultants, and authorities, to interpret regulatory updates and develop compliance strategies.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, along with strong visual presentation capabilities.
• Proven analytical skills to condense regulatory information, evaluate impacts, and convert raw risks into practical business solutions.
• Capacity to navigate complex organizational structures, understand various stakeholder viewpoints, and present ideas clearly to group management.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a collaborative and consultative approach within a team.
• Minimum of two to three years of experience in trade compliance, including consultation, training, research, and content creation in an international setting.
• Master's degree in Law, Economics, or a related discipline, ideally from a university in the EU, Switzerland, or the US.
• Fluent proficiency in French and excellent command of English, both orally and in writing.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SAP and SAP GTS systems.
• Experience in developing or delivering corporate training programs, such as e-learning or classroom sessions.
