VN Mobility: Multimedia Officer (P)

The International Organization for Migration seeks a Multimedia Officer in Geneva to produce high-quality photography and video content, support strategic communications, and provide technical guidance to global missions.

Reporting to the Head of Multimedia within the Department of Media and Communications at the Geneva headquarters, this position delivers visual storytelling and media support to both field missions and central departments. The role focuses on capturing humanitarian activities and ensuring consistent, high-impact multimedia output across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create professional photography and videography that documents IOM's projects, events, and field activities.
  • Develop compelling visual narratives and multimedia materials that align with the organization's strategic communication goals.
  • Partner with regional and country offices globally to produce engaging audiovisual content that showcases ongoing initiatives and successes.
  • Offer editorial oversight, quality checks, and specialized training in multimedia production to staff in regional and country offices.
  • Deliver technical assistance to headquarters divisions, such as Private-Sector Partnerships, for the creation of multimedia assets.
  • Assist the Executive Office in producing premium visual content for advocacy campaigns, public outreach, and senior-level events.
  • Oversee the multimedia studio operations, handling both live broadcasts and recorded sessions as needed.
  • Maintain the IOM Media Library by managing metadata, curating assets, and ensuring content quality.
  • Stay updated on new trends in digital content creation, AI-driven workflows, and audience engagement strategies.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or a related discipline combined with five years of professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree with seven years of relevant experience.
  • Proven background as a professional photographer and/or videographer conducting on-location assignments.
  • Experience documenting humanitarian programs, including emergency response operations.
  • Skills in scriptwriting, copywriting, and crafting detailed multimedia products for diverse audiences.
  • Competence in livestreaming and managing events.
  • Background in writing and editing for public information and reporting, particularly in emergency settings.
  • Full professional proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of motion graphics, 3D animation, or similar moving image techniques.
  • Working proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic.
