Media Relations & Content Specialist

Union Bancaire Privée seeks a Media Relations & Content Specialist in Geneva to manage European media strategy, produce compliant financial content, and maintain strong journalist relationships.

The company is looking for a specialist to assist the Head of Media in executing the Bank’s communication strategy across Europe and the Middle East, with a specific emphasis on French-speaking Switzerland. The role involves creating high-quality materials that reinforce the Bank’s expertise in investment strategy and asset management while ensuring all outputs align with strict regulatory and brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Align priorities and timelines with media agencies throughout the EMEA region.
• Partner with Investment Services and regional teams to identify spokespeople and manage the full content approval workflow.
• Provide accurate, on-brand, and timely responses to media inquiries.
• Organize interviews, briefings, and market commentary sessions with internal experts.
• Create and maintain essential media resources such as Q&As, talking points, and background notes.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with journalists covering finance and business news.
• Write and refine press releases, statements, and opinion pieces in collaboration with subject-matter experts.
• Simplify complex financial and market concepts into clear, compliant messages for public consumption.
• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of all content before it is distributed to the press.
• Ensure all communications adhere to the Bank’s tone of voice and brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Digital team to maximize the reach of media coverage.
• Share significant media exposure updates with Internal Communications.
• Track media mentions of the Bank, its experts, and key themes across EMEA.
• Utilize monitoring and analytics platforms to measure visibility and public sentiment.
• Generate regular reports on media KPIs for the Head of Media and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in media relations within financial services or an agency serving financial clients.
• Demonstrated success working with international financial and business media.
• Deep understanding of the financial services landscape and media ecosystem.
• Exceptional writing and editing capabilities, with the ability to produce high-quality copy under tight deadlines.
• Skill in managing multiple requests and deadlines across different regions in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience dealing with sensitive topics within a regulated industry.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with credibility among journalists and confidence when interacting with senior internal experts.
• Collaborative team player with a hands-on operational approach.
• Mandatory fluency in French.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in additional European languages is considered an advantage.
