Workshop Technician - Finishing & Integration

Jet Aviation seeks a Workshop Technician for its Cabinet Shop in Basel to assemble and finish high-end VIP aircraft interiors, ensuring precision and quality in line with engineering specifications.

This position sits within the Cabinet Shop, a team dedicated to crafting lightweight, functional, and aesthetically pleasing furniture for private jets. The technician will lead the reassembly of complete furniture pieces after the finishing stage, utilizing 3D digital models to achieve the final, exquisite cabin design.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, reinstall, and apply final finishes to VIP aircraft interior furniture and components, strictly adhering to release data and customer specifications.
  • Execute modifications and repairs on cabin monuments and components in compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Machine grooves, install, and bond plated inlays onto varnished or painted veneer surfaces, following established Jet Aviation processes.
  • Cut and apply surface coverings, including hard laminate, Tedlar, or veneers, using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Cut and bond mouldings to both straight and complex 2D shape cabinetry.
  • Carry out major repairs and modifications with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Share expertise and assist colleagues to strengthen overall team knowledge and craftsmanship.
  • Support senior technicians in driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Take full ownership of the quality, safety, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing efforts, such as 5S, EH&S audits, and waste reduction.
  • Perform supervised installations or modifications directly on aircraft when required.
  • Research and follow approved documentation using the JPMS IT platform.

Requirements

  • Completed cabinet maker apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret 3D model files, 2D drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Experience working with VIP materials in an aviation or high-end manufacturing environment.
  • Previous progression through Systems Integration Technician Level 1, with exposure to some Level 2 responsibilities.
  • Proficient use of tools and equipment specific to aerospace interiors.
  • English: B1 level minimum.
