AI Engineer

SonarSource, a leader in AI-driven code review, seeks a Mid-level AI Engineer in Geneva to build and deploy AI agents for internal automation. The role involves full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, and advancing the company’s AI transformation with a focus on governance and efficiency.

This position supports SonarSource’s AI transformation by developing autonomous AI agents to automate internal operations. As part of a global team, the engineer will contribute to scalable, secure AI systems aligned with the company’s CODE mindset—Committed, Obsessed, Deliberate, Effective—while leveraging Sonar’s strong revenue base and growth in the AI software space.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end AI agents and full-stack applications to automate complex business workflows.
• Build and maintain core AI infrastructure, including agent orchestration, vector database integrations, and RAG pipelines.
• Manage cloud deployment and scaling of AI services, ensuring high availability, performance, and efficiency.
• Identify and implement high-impact automation opportunities across departments as part of Sonar’s AI evolution.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define AI governance, security, and data privacy standards.
• Own the full lifecycle of internal tools, from backend logic and prompt engineering to user-friendly frontend interfaces.

Requirements

• Experience in full-stack development using technologies like Python, Node.js, or React.
• Proven track record in creating and deploying autonomous AI agents with tools such as LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Background in traditional automation, including scripting, workflow engines, or RPA.
• Hands-on experience deploying production-ready applications on major cloud platforms, with AWS being preferred.
• Strong grasp of agentic architectures, including state management, tool-calling, and memory systems.
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate), prompt engineering, and optional fine-tuning.
• Ability to collaborate with non-technical teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with AI advancements.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS is strongly preferred for cloud-related tasks.
• Prior experience in fine-tuning AI models is advantageous but not required.
