Partners Group seeks a Mid-level AI Engineer in Zug to build production-grade LLM solutions. The role requires strong Python skills and experience delivering AI products in financial services.

This position is dedicated to identifying, validating, and deploying AI solutions that generate tangible business value within specialized business units. The engineer will focus on creating end-to-end, production-ready LLM-powered applications while scaling reusable components under strict governance. The role merges advanced applied AI with agile methodologies, ensuring that responsible AI practices and risk controls are integral to the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to pinpoint, prioritize, and define high-impact AI use cases, including conducting buy-versus-build analyses.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of AI product delivery, moving from initial problem definition through prototyping, piloting, and final production handover.
  • Develop AI-driven solutions that encompass data pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation systems, and complex reasoning workflows.
  • Integrate external vendor AI platforms with internal solutions, maximizing the reuse of existing capabilities.
  • Implement monitoring to track key metrics such as adoption rates, solution quality, business value, return on investment, costs, and associated risks.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to guarantee that all solutions are secure, compliant, auditable, and easy to maintain.
  • Conduct rapid evaluation cycles and contribute reusable components, patterns, and tools to facilitate broader organizational adoption.

Requirements

  • At least five years of software engineering experience, including exposure to financial services and a solid understanding of market dynamics.
  • Minimum of two years of experience delivering ML/AI solutions to production, specifically including end-to-end development of LLM-enabled applications.
  • Proficiency in Python and a proven track record of designing and building maintainable, high-quality software in enterprise settings.
  • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control systems, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear scopes, roadmaps, and measurable success metrics.

Nice to have

  • AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate certification or an equivalent credential.
  • Experience handling confidential data and collaborating with governance, risk, and security stakeholders.
