Analyst - Finance

McKinsey & Company in Zürich seeks a Mid-level Finance Analyst to lead financial controlling, reporting, and strategic analysis. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and fluency in English and German.

This position is responsible for driving financial controlling, analysis, and reporting to underpin strategic decision-making. The analyst provides advanced technical support for planning, performance management, and reporting, acting as a key thought partner across European and Global offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead reporting and analytical initiatives with minimal supervision, focusing on innovating report designs and workflows.
• Manage monthly performance reviews, annual planning cycles, forecasting, and general reporting processes.
• Offer functional and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders, resolving issues and enhancing processes.
• Create and review reports to address both standard and ad-hoc financial queries.
• Develop innovative analytical approaches to generate new insights for leadership.
• Collaborate with other departments and global offices as a thought partner on finance-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
• At least three years of finance experience, preferably within a professional services setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to initiate and complete tasks independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid grasp of accounting principles and financial tracking methodologies.
• High level of discretion when handling confidential information, adhering to strict professional standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.

Nice to have

• Major or specialization in Controlling.
• Experience with efficient data management and familiarity with reporting tools such as SAP or SAC.
