Anavia seeks a Senior Configuration Management Engineer in Näfels, CH, to manage product baselines, engineering changes, and regulatory compliance for aircraft systems.

This position focuses on establishing and maintaining configuration baselines for aircraft systems, subsystems, and components. The engineer ensures that all configuration management activities adhere to strict aviation regulations and airworthiness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of Engineering Change Proposals, Orders, and Requests, guiding them from initial approval through to final implementation.
  • Control the release and management of engineering drawings, technical specifications, data packages, and related product documentation.
  • Maintain precise Bills of Materials, parts lists, and hierarchical product structures within the system.
  • Ensure complete traceability linking requirements, design data, test records, and final as-built configurations.
  • Chair Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) to assess the technical, financial, scheduling, and regulatory impacts of proposed changes.
  • Coordinate the execution of changes across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and maintenance teams.
  • Manage engineering deviations and secure necessary approvals.
  • Monitor and track the efficiency of implemented changes across various units.
  • Assist with certification activities for the FAA, EASA, and other regulatory bodies, including the preparation of compliance reports.
  • Maintain conformity records to support ongoing airworthiness requirements.
  • Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits and configuration management assessments.
  • Utilize Product Lifecycle Management systems, such as Teamcenter, to manage data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, systems engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing product configurations for aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, or other aerospace systems.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with engineering change processes and leading Configuration Control Boards.
  • At least three years of configuration management experience within the aerospace or aviation sector.
  • Solid understanding of configuration management principles, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in engineering drawing standards, specifically ASME Y14.5 and ISO standards.
  • Ability to integrate PLM and ERP systems for effective BOM management.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft systems, including structures, avionics, and propulsion.
  • Strong oral and written English language skills.
  • Must be a Swiss or EU citizen.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting aviation certification programs under FAA or EASA frameworks.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations.
  • Prior use of requirements management and traceability tools.
  • German language skills are desirable.
