Consultant - Indirect Tax / VAT Advisory (Geneva)

Ernst & Young AG seeks a Consultant for Indirect Tax and VAT Advisory in Geneva. The role focuses on advising clients on complex tax challenges, including VAT and customs duties, within a multidisciplinary team.

This position sits within the Geneva-based Indirect Tax Team at Ernst & Young AG. The primary purpose is to assist clients in navigating indirect tax challenges while optimizing their business and legal structures. The consultant will work on national and international mandates, providing innovative solutions for complex entrepreneurial and tax issues through collaboration with experts across various sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with national and international indirect taxation mandates, covering VAT, customs duties, and other related taxes.
• Develop innovative strategies to address complex tax and business challenges by working across disciplines.
• Collaborate with experts from different fields to integrate taxation and economic perspectives into client solutions.

Requirements

• A recognized master’s degree in economics and/or law (such as an LLM) or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent command of both English and French.
• A sharp analytical mindset capable of applying method and rigor to problem-solving.
• A clear interest in Swiss and international taxation, with a specific focus on indirect taxes like VAT and customs duties.

Nice to have

• Possession of diplomas in both economics and law.
• Prior experience or internships in tax or tax technology.
• Familiarity with AI tools and automation workflows.
• Ability to communicate in German.
