MET Group seeks an Associate for Corporate Strategy & Business Development in Baar, CH, focusing on energy assets, market analysis, and strategic growth initiatives.

This position supports the company’s corporate strategy by evaluating growth opportunities and managing business development efforts within the renewable and asset segments. The role involves analyzing market trends, leading strategic projects, and identifying new investment avenues to drive long-term value.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze economic, regulatory, and technological trends in renewables and conventional energy to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead large-scale strategic initiatives in collaboration with executive leadership of the Renewable and Asset Segment.
  • Design operational excellence projects, assemble teams, and contribute to the group’s strategic agenda.
  • Assess the strategic alignment of business activities and conduct due diligence for organic and inorganic M&A or project opportunities.
  • Track competitor activities and broader market shifts to evaluate their long-term impact on the business.
  • Identify and evaluate investment opportunities in innovative low-carbon fuels and technologies.
  • Manage pan-European and global business development and infrastructure building projects.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in finance, law, or business administration from a top-tier university.
  • 4-5 years of experience in energy asset development, preferably within investment banking, private equity, debt, or M&A.
  • Deep knowledge of the European energy market.
  • Ability to distill complex information into clear decision options.
  • Strong project management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High motivation, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a close-knit team.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to translate theoretical scenarios into practical action plans.
  • Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • CFA charter or MBA degree.
  • Proficiency in additional European languages.
