MET Group seeks a Senior Associate for Corporate Strategy & Business Development in Baar, CH, focusing on energy assets, market analysis, and strategic growth initiatives.

This position plays a central role in shaping the company's strategic direction by evaluating growth opportunities and managing business development projects. The incumbent will support corporate strategy efforts, with a specific focus on the Renewable and Asset Segment, ensuring that strategic decisions are grounded in robust market and economic analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze economic, regulatory, technological, and supply chain factors to provide clear insights into renewables and conventional energy market trends, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Lead and coordinate major strategic initiatives in collaboration with executives from the Renewable and Asset Segment.
  • Identify opportunities for operational excellence and strategic improvement, design relevant projects, assemble teams, and contribute to the overall strategic agenda of MET Group.
  • Assess the strategic alignment of the Renewable and Asset Segment’s business activities and conduct due diligence for both organic and inorganic M&A or project opportunities.
  • Track competitor activities, industry benchmarks, and broader market developments to evaluate their long-term implications for the business.
  • Source and evaluate investment opportunities in innovative, low-carbon fuel sources and technologies.
  • Manage pan-European and global business development and infrastructure building projects from initiation to completion.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in finance, law, or business administration from a top-tier university.
  • 4–5 years of experience in energy asset development, gained through investment banking, private equity/debt, or M&A roles.
  • Deep understanding of the European energy market landscape.
  • Strong ability to distill complex information into clear decision options.
  • Excellent project management capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • High motivation, a solid work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a close-knit team environment.
  • Creative and open-minded approach, with the capacity to translate theoretical scenarios into practical action plans.
  • Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • CFA charter and/or MBA qualification.
  • Proficiency in additional European languages.
