State Street Bank International seeks a Vice President for Regulatory & Legal Oversight in Zürich to ensure Swiss depositary activities comply with CISA, AMAS, and FINMA standards.
Positioned within the Institutional Services function, this role reports directly to the Head of Depositary Switzerland. The primary purpose is to safeguard the bank’s fiduciary duties by ensuring all Swiss depositary operations adhere to strict legal, regulatory, and independence requirements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and authorize fund prospectuses, contracts, and associated legal documents.
- Monitor regulatory developments and convert them into actionable operational procedures and documentation.
- Act as the legal subject matter expert representing the firm in industry groups and working bodies.
- Collaborate with legal, operations, custody, fund accounting, and client service teams to maintain compliance and protect the bank’s risk profile.
- Ensure that risk management, independence, and oversight obligations are properly maintained.
Requirements
- A mandatory law degree from Switzerland or an equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing fund prospectuses and contracts for Swiss-domiciled funds.
- Solid understanding of the fund industry and its legal landscape.
- Practical knowledge of FINMA approval workflows and handling regulatory correspondence.
- Proven track record of interacting with financial authorities.
- Fluency in both German and English.
