Director, Procurement and Supply Chain (LU, CH or UK)

ClearSpace seeks a Director of Procurement and Supply Chain to build and lead its global supply chain function across CH, LU, and UK locations.

This leadership position is responsible for designing, managing, and refining the company’s international supply chain strategy across various sites and programs. It offers a unique chance to construct the function from its inception while leveraging deep knowledge of the European space industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business goals.
• Define sourcing strategies and authorize the selection of new suppliers.
• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of supplier contracts, MSAs, and SOWs.
• Act as the primary commercial contact for all third-party supply chain interactions.
• Support the determination of the Make-or-Buy strategy for the organization.
• Ensure adherence to import/export laws and provide necessary operational guidance.
• Oversee procurement activities to guarantee timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels.
• Mitigate business risks by implementing robust contract provisions, including performance management, penalty clauses, change control mechanisms, and exit strategies.

Requirements

• Over ten years of leadership experience managing global suppliers, contract manufacturers, and manufacturing strategies in product manufacturing.
• Deep familiarity with the European space ecosystem, including Major European primes and the NewSpace sector.
• Extensive knowledge of ESA structures, procurement regulations, and geo-return principles.
• Experience scaling products from R&D to production using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Proven success in implementing multi-site supply chain strategies that drive efficiency and cost reduction.
• Ability to manage multi-million-euro capital investment projects.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Exposure to ISO, ITAR, and other regulatory standards.
• Fluency in English.
