Electronics and Software Technician

Destinusgroup in Payerne, CH, seeks a mid-level Electronics and Software Technician for onsite full-time work. The role focuses on propulsion test systems, integrating hardware, software, and sensors for defense-related aerospace applications.

This position is central to real-world propulsion testing, supporting the integration and validation of high-performance systems. The technician will work on a movable test cell designed to evaluate turbomachinery, combustion devices, and full engine systems, ensuring all components and signals function correctly. The role involves hands-on work with sensors for pressure, temperature, vibrations, flow, and thrust, contributing to Destinus’s mission of advancing defense technology through cutting-edge UAVs and aerospace innovations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams to enhance the performance and reliability of the propulsion test rig.
• Support initial testing phases by working with hardware and software teams to verify component functionality.
• Assist in integrating and testing mechanical, electronic, and software components at the system level.
• Participate in cabling tasks to ensure clean, reliable, and well-organized connections.
• Provide support during testing phases, maintaining smooth operations and resolving issues promptly.
• Help debug hardware and software problems by identifying root causes and applying corrective actions.

Requirements

• CFC in Electronics or equivalent technical education in electronic systems.
• Practical experience with test benches, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience using C, C++, or similar low-level languages for hardware interaction.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or data handling in testing workflows.
• Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Experience testing power electronics and understanding their behavior under various conditions.
• Hands-on work with pressure and temperature sensors in dynamic or high-performance settings.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and Yocto for embedded software environments.
• English language skills at CEFR B2 level, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with communication protocols including CAN, MODBUS, Ethernet, UART, PCIE, and USB.
• Knowledge of DC/DC converter design for high-power applications.
