Field Service Technician

Bystronic, a global technology company focused on laser cutting and bending automation, seeks a mid-level Field Service Technician in Switzerland. The role involves installing, maintaining, and servicing Bystronic machines at customer sites, with approximately 90% domestic travel and hybrid work. Candidates need a mechanical or electrical background, 2-3 years of service experience, and fluency in Dutch with good English skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and hand over Bystronic machines at customer sites, ensuring they are fully operational and meet company standards.
• Assemble electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components during machine setup.
• Maintain and repair Bystronic machines, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Update or downgrade CNC/PLC software on standalone machines and verify successful implementation.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues through troubleshooting and analysis.
• Assist with machine installation and operation at trade fairs and exhibitions.

Requirements

• A mechanical or electrical education or training background.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in customer or technical service roles.
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as required.
• Approximately 90% domestic travel is expected.
• Ability to make sound decisions and develop creative solutions to improve customer satisfaction and sales.
• Capacity to adapt and manage competing priorities based on repair demands.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
