Field Service Technician WF Flexo - G C&L (Chennai)

The company seeks a Field Service Technician to provide onsite support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for flexible packaging equipment in a hybrid role based in Chennai.

This position focuses on delivering technical service and customer support through field visits. As a key supplier to the packaging and label industry, the organization relies on this role to ensure equipment performance and customer satisfaction through direct onsite engagement.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage onsite tasks including installation, startup, repair, maintenance, and testing.
• Diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Prepare accurate service reports, timesheets, and travel expense claims promptly.
• Execute special projects as directed by management.
• Foster positive customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
• Analyze customer needs and provide suitable recommendations or briefings.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and share relevant information across the organization.
• Identify and request necessary spare parts.
• Adhere strictly to company field procedures and protocols.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in technical service roles.
• Diploma or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Strong understanding of Industrial Automation products, including Drives, PLCs, and SCADA systems from vendors like Siemens and Rexroth.
• Technical expertise in servicing flexible packaging machinery.
• Fluency in the local language.
• Willingness to learn mechanical systems.
• Flexibility to travel on short notice and stay on-site for extended periods.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
