Bobst seeks a Field Service Technician in Chennai to provide onsite support, installation, and maintenance for flexible packaging machinery, leveraging expertise in industrial automation.
This position focuses on delivering direct technical support and service to customers through field visits. As a key supplier to the packaging and label industry, the company relies on this role to ensure equipment performance and customer satisfaction through hands-on onsite assistance.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage onsite tasks including installation, commissioning, repairs, maintenance, and testing.
- Identify technical faults and determine effective solutions to resolve issues.
- Prepare accurate service reports, timesheets, and travel expense claims in a timely manner.
- Execute special projects as directed by management.
- Foster strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Analyze customer needs and provide suitable recommendations or briefings.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams and share relevant information across the organization.
- Identify necessary spare parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to company field procedures and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Possess 5 to 7 years of experience in technical service roles.
- Hold a Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of industrial automation products, specifically Drives, PLCs, and SCADA systems from vendors such as Siemens and Rexroth.
- Have technical skills and product knowledge related to servicing flexible packaging machines.
- Be fluent in the local language.
- Show willingness to learn mechanical aspects of the equipment.
- Be available for travel on short notice and comfortable staying on-site for extended periods.
