Finops/AWS Specialist

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Mid-level Finops/AWS Specialist in Zürich to optimize AWS financial operations, manage costs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

This position is dedicated to refining the financial management of cloud infrastructure. The specialist will drive efficiency by aligning AWS usage with business objectives, ensuring accurate budgeting, and providing clear financial insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish and uphold FinOps standards to reduce AWS expenditures.
• Review cloud usage trends and propose strategies for cost reduction.
• Partner with finance departments to improve budgeting accuracy and forecasting for cloud costs.
• Oversee AWS infrastructure performance to ensure optimal operation.
• Develop and oversee strategies for cost allocation and resource tagging.
• Track AWS pricing updates and evaluate their financial impact on the organization.
• Coordinate with IT, engineering, and finance groups to integrate FinOps with broader business aims.
• Deliver financial analysis to stakeholders, highlighting cost drivers and optimization opportunities.
• Keep detailed records of AWS architecture, spending, and FinOps workflows.
• Generate reports and dashboards for technical and financial audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a closely related discipline.
• Fluency in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in applying FinOps methodologies to optimize AWS costs.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services, architectural patterns, and pricing structures.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or a higher-level credential.
