Firmware Contractors, 6 months contract CH

Kandou seeks a mid-level Firmware Contractor for a 6-month hybrid role in Saint-Sulpice, CH, focusing on embedded firmware development and silicon support.

Operating within a high-tech scale-up environment, this position supports Kandou’s mission as an innovative leader in high-speed, energy-efficient chip-chip link solutions. The role involves developing and maintaining embedded firmware for silicon products while ensuring robust code quality through rigorous testing and validation.

Responsibilities

• Create, test, and maintain embedded firmware for silicon-based products.
• Guarantee code reliability by executing comprehensive software test suites.
• Manage the migration, consolidation, and development of existing silicon debug software.
• Deliver software design and technical support for silicon design infrastructure.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in designing, coding, and debugging real-time applications using C or C++ within embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) or real-time schedulers, preferably Zephyr OS.
• Proficiency in interfacing with hardware peripherals such as SPI, I2C/SMBus, JTAG, and UART.
• Capability to perform debugging at both the application and hardware levels.
• Solid understanding of software validation and verification methodologies.
• Experience developing software across Linux and Windows platforms.
• Familiarity with modern software development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
• Background in coding and optimizing low-level drivers.

Nice to have

• Ability to write Python scripts for prototyping, testing, and validation purposes.
• Experience with systems utilizing multiple MCUs, including firmware-to-firmware communication and synchronization.
• Knowledge of hardware interfacing and electronics principles.
• Understanding of the 32-bit RISC-V processor architecture.
• Familiarity with SerDes technology.
• Background in signal processing and algorithms.
