Anavia seeks a Senior Flight Control Software Engineer in Bilten, CH, to design and test model-based software for autonomous flight sequences.

This position focuses on the creation, implementation, and validation of model-based software that enables new flight capabilities. The engineer is responsible for developing safe, reliable, and autonomous flight sequences that strictly adhere to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and validate model-based software for new flight features.
  • Execute simulation tests, including SIL and HIL, to verify new functionalities.
  • Analyze data to assess algorithm performance and find areas for improvement.
  • Develop analysis tools and process large datasets to create test reports.
  • Produce documentation and training materials for flight control logic.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver product enhancements.
  • Keep up with industry trends and apply best practices.
  • Communicate complex technical issues to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Adhere to company safety instructions, quality manuals, and process specifications.
  • Travel internationally for up to 25% of working hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with model-based programming, ideally in aviation or space.
  • Strong proficiency in Simulink or similar model-based tools.
  • Solid understanding of flight dynamics.
  • Ability to design comprehensive test programs from unit to system level.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.
  • Fluent English (oral and written).
  • Swiss or EU citizenship required.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and best practices.
  • Experience with C or Python programming.
  • Prior experience with HIL and SIL testing.
  • German language skills.
