Proton seeks a Senior Frontend Engineer for its Meet team in Zürich to build a private, encrypted video communication platform using React and TypeScript.
This position sits within the Meet team at Proton, where the primary objective is to develop and refine Proton Meet, a secure platform dedicated to free encrypted video calls. The engineer will focus on creating a robust, user-centric interface that prioritizes privacy and performance.
Responsibilities
- Build and sustain features that users interact with directly.
- Guarantee smooth, responsive, and high-fidelity user interfaces across various devices.
- Champion the adoption of clean, maintainable code and solid frontend architectural patterns.
- Maintain an equilibrium between system performance, accessibility standards, and the speed of feature deployment.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in React, specifically in crafting performant and reusable components.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript or another statically typed programming language.
- A proven track record of leading large-scale and complex frontend engineering projects.

- Prior experience working with agentic AI technologies.
- Background in developing audio or video applications, including knowledge of WebRTC and Messaging Layer Security.
