Takeda Pharma AG seeks a Senior Global Medical Lead for Benign Hematology in Zürich. The role focuses on medical strategy for Vonvendi and broader therapeutic area activities.

The company is looking for an experienced professional to direct global medical activities within the Benign Hematology therapeutic area. This position involves defining strategic directions for key products like Vonvendi, ensuring alignment with broader business goals, and leading scientific programs that support both pre- and post-launch phases.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the creation and execution of short- and long-term business strategies for the division.
  • Formulate and guide global medical plans and strategies for products before and after market approval.
  • Create annual medical tactical plans and manage budgets for global initiatives.
  • Supervise functional plans that support overarching medical strategies.
  • Work with business partners to ensure brand strategies are medically sound and aligned.
  • Contribute to product development strategies by providing medical and R&D insights.
  • Organize, design, and manage global medical Advisory Boards.
  • Monitor and manage activities related to Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement.
  • Act as the medical representative at global regulatory meetings.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting information to regulatory authorities regarding clinical matters.
  • Evaluate product complaints that result in adverse clinical outcomes.
  • Lead efforts in capability building and collaborate with training departments.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with academic institutions and thought leaders.
  • Represent the Global Medical department in internal and external forums.
  • Present data on the Benign Hematology portfolio and disease area at various meetings.
  • Support clinical research strategies and lead evidence generation efforts.
  • Assist in evaluating and investigating adverse events.
  • Collaborate with Digital, Data, and Technology teams to integrate AI-driven projects into strategic execution.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree, with an MD preferred, or a PhD or PharmD.
  • At least seven years of experience in pharmaceutical Medical Affairs or Clinical Development/R&D.
  • Background or training in benign hematology and bleeding disorders.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, focusing on supporting brands or disease areas at an international level.
  • Proven ability to create post-approval studies, medical strategies, and launch plans.
  • Strong understanding of critical R&D processes in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations in key markets.
