Global Trade Compliance Manager

Tecan Group AG seeks a Global Trade Compliance Manager to lead the Strategic Supply Chain Management team, ensuring regulatory adherence and optimizing international trade operations.

The company is looking for a leader to join the Strategic Supply Chain Management team and take charge of global trade compliance. In this capacity, the individual will guide Trade Compliance Specialists, ensuring that all import and export activities align with legal standards while supporting safe business growth in new markets.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee full adherence to all applicable trade laws and regulatory frameworks.
• Detect potential risks, prevent violations, and avoid delays in shipments.
• Enhance internal processes and provide training to staff for accurate import and export documentation.
• Maintain current policies and ensure all necessary licenses remain valid.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with global partners across the organization.
• Advise on the safe entry of new markets, products, and business models.
• Cultivate a proactive and ethical culture focused on compliance.
• Streamline customs procedures and advance digitalization efforts.
• Lead, motivate, and develop team members to achieve departmental and company goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Economy, International Trade Law, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in trade compliance, import/export, or customs operations.
• Deep understanding of international trade regulations, including EAR, customs rules, sanctions, and embargoes.
• Minimum of two years of proven experience in team management.
• Expertise in Master Data Management, specifically regarding COO, HS Codes, and Preference Calculation.
• Fluency in both English and German.
• Proficiency in SAP, GTS, and MS Office applications.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist or Certified Export Specialist.
