Group Risk Assurance Controls Manager (80–100%)

Lombard Odier IM seeks a Group Risk Assurance Controls Manager in Geneva to lead the second-line defense team, oversee control testing frameworks, and manage operational risk assurance activities.

Based in the Operational Risk Management department in Switzerland, this position serves as a key component of the second line of defense. The incumbent holds complete ownership of the Group’s risk assurance and control testing framework while exercising direct line management responsibilities over a small team.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and improve the global risk assurance control testing framework along with the annual assurance plan
• Manage a team of one full-time employee, including coaching, setting priorities, and overseeing performance
• Create and execute a risk-based control testing strategy that aligns with regulatory standards and internal goals
• Conduct periodic and ad-hoc control testing across various business units and processes
• Provide independent oversight and challenge to the first line’s risk management and control structures
• Evaluate the effectiveness of Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and other first-line control activities
• Prepare and present clear, impactful reports to senior leadership, risk committees, and governing bodies
• Track and validate remediation actions for identified control deficiencies
• Enhance risk assurance methodologies, frameworks, and tools, using data-driven approaches where feasible

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related discipline
• 5–7 years of experience in private banking or financial services, with substantial exposure to operational risk, internal controls, audit, or risk assurance
• Demonstrated experience leading control testing programs and managing assurance activities
• Prior experience in people management or mentoring
• Solid understanding of the three lines of defense model and governance structures in private banking
• Deep expertise in control testing methodologies, RCSAs, and control frameworks
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements (FINMA, Basel), and industry standards
• Fluent proficiency in English and French

• Experience with data analytics and GRC tools
• Additional languages beyond English and French
