Head of Consolidation and Accounting

Landis+Gyr seeks an Executive-level Head of Consolidation and Accounting in Cham to lead financial closing, reporting, and team development within the Finance department.

This executive position sits within the Finance department at the company’s headquarters in Cham, near Zurich, and reports directly to the VP of Group Accounting & Controlling. The role is responsible for steering the financial close process, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding the accounting team through complex reporting challenges.

Responsibilities

• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and consolidation activities for all legal entities.
• Guarantee the precision and completeness of financial reports and management information.
• Refine the accounting and reporting framework to align with relevant standards and internal governance rules.
• Manage the creation of statutory and consolidated financial statements, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations and standardize reporting practices across different entities.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors to facilitate a seamless audit experience.
• Advise finance teams and leadership on intricate transactions and reporting matters.
• Create and update accounting policies, process documentation, and internal control measures.
• Assist the CFO in presenting financial results to management and shareholders, including performance analysis.
• Champion the automation, simplification, and continuous improvement of accounting workflows.
• Mentor and develop the accounting and consolidation staff, promoting a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Requirements

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in accounting, consolidation, and reporting, preferably in international or multi-entity settings.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems and consolidation software, particularly IBM Cognos.
• Fluent command of the English language.

Nice to have

• Professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, or Swiss Certified Accountant.
• Ability to communicate in German.
