Head of Global Medical Publications

Sobi seeks a Director to lead global medical publications in Basel. The role involves managing a team, standardising processes, and ensuring compliance with scientific and ethical standards across therapeutic areas.

This position directs the global medical publications function, guiding a team of managers while standardising the operational frameworks that support scientific and medical publishing across therapeutic areas. As part of the Medical Excellence and Operations Leadership Team, the role shapes best practices and drives a collaborative culture to meet organisational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Guide, mentor, and develop a group of publication managers to ensure high performance and effective project delivery.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of strategic publication plans spanning multiple therapeutic areas.
• Ensure all publication activities adhere to governance protocols and industry standards for compliance.
• Design, align, and streamline operational processes and frameworks to improve the efficiency of publications work.
• Collaborate with medical experts and cross-functional partners to maximise the impact and value of scientific outputs for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

• Advanced academic qualification (PhD) or professional certification (e.g., PharmD) in a scientific or medical discipline.
• Over a decade of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector, particularly in medical affairs, publications, or scientific communications.
• Demonstrated track record of leading teams and supporting professional growth.
• Comprehensive understanding of scientific and ethical guidelines to ensure strict regulatory compliance.
• Fluent command of English.

• Proficiency in additional European languages.
