LGT seeks a Head of Portfolio Management Europe to lead investment implementation and team development across the region. This senior role requires extensive wealth management experience and fluency in German and English.
The company is looking for a senior leader to oversee Portfolio Management operations throughout Europe. In this position, the individual will guide an experienced group of portfolio managers while supporting the front office to ensure high-quality, client-focused investment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Direct portfolio management activities across Europe, prioritizing client-centric investment execution.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of portfolio managers distributed across various European sites.
- Supervise portfolio construction, ongoing monitoring, rebalancing, and overall investment performance.
- Collaborate with the front office, Research, and other stakeholders to provide tailored investment solutions.
- Improve the portfolio management operating model, including processes and infrastructure.
- Strengthen quantitative capabilities by leveraging proprietary tools, models, and analytics.
- Represent the organization in internal committees and select client meetings.
- Expand the product offering in partnership with the front office and Research teams.
Requirements
- Extensive background in portfolio management within wealth management, private banking, or asset management.
- Several years of senior leadership experience managing teams across multiple locations.
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, a quantitative field, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Strong quantitative grasp of portfolio analytics, models, and data-driven investment processes.
- Broad multi-asset expertise and deep understanding of European markets, macroeconomic trends, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record of enhancing processes, operating models, and infrastructure for sustainable operational improvement.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong people management capabilities with a history of attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing investment talent.

- CFA designation or another advanced professional qualification.
