Head of Risk Management - ART AG

Allianz Suisse seeks a Head of Risk Management for its ART AG unit in Wallisellen. This regional leadership role oversees global risk strategy, regulatory compliance, and team performance within the Finance function.

Positioned within the Finance function of Allianz Commercial, this leadership role reports to the Regional CFO with a matrix line to the Chief Risk Officer. The position provides global exposure, overseeing risk operations across ART AG, ART Bermuda Ltd, and the broader ART Line of Business on an international scale.

Responsibilities

• Direct the risk management team by setting strategic goals and tracking performance metrics.
• Create and execute the global risk management strategy for ART AG, ART Bermuda Ltd, and the ART Line of Business.
• Manage solvency reporting obligations under SST, SII, and BSCR frameworks.
• Prepare quarterly risk reports for Risk Committees and lead the annual Top Risk Assessment process.
• Provide independent oversight on underwriting, new product development, reputation risk, and risk accumulation.
• Serve as the main link for risk transparency between local management and global Allianz Commercial functions.
• Ensure adherence to external risk regulations and interpret local legal obligations.
• Build and maintain relationships with local regulators and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business units to identify, assess, and prioritize risk mitigation actions.
• Assist the Global Risk Management team with broader global responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience leading international or virtual teams within complex global matrix structures.
• Deep knowledge of insurance sectors and modern risk management techniques, including corporate product portfolios.
• Proven track record of leading change and delivering large-scale international projects, including restructuring and integration.
• Hands-on expertise in risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, particularly the Swiss Solvency Test (SST).
• Solid knowledge of Actuarial, Underwriting, Reinsurance, and COO functions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex risk issues to senior leadership.
• Strong decision-making abilities in complex and ambiguous situations.
• Expertise in integrating AI into various business functions.

Nice to have

• Actuarial or CFA designation.
• Proficiency in a local Swiss language (German, French, or Italian) in addition to fluent English.
