Head of Trading

Crypto Finance AG seeks a Head of Trading in Zurich to lead the institutional trading desk for digital assets, managing risk, pricing, and client relationships within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the trading desk and team to ensure reliable execution of client activity in spot and derivatives markets.
• Serve as the business owner for trading products, overseeing pricing, P&L, platform roadmap, and client experience.
• Configure and tune the proprietary spot order and execution management system, including spread, skew, and hedging logic, in collaboration with Product and Technology teams.
• Own market risk across spot and derivatives, including inventory, hedging, and limit frameworks, supported by an institutional risk management platform.
• Select, onboard, and maintain relationships with liquidity providers, exchanges, and prime brokers.
• Oversee operational and strategic trading account management, including cash, collateral, and margin optimization.
• Represent the trading function to key institutional clients, partners, and stakeholders at a senior level.
• Act as a subject matter expert for Sales and Product on client conversations, pricing, and new product design.
• Define and execute the strategic direction of the trading function, including new products, venues, and connectivity.
• Develop and mentor traders, manage performance, and build a disciplined, collaborative trading culture.
• Collaborate with senior management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales, and Product on operational and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain strong market knowledge across derivatives and digital asset markets to support informed decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven track record leading a trading desk or holding a senior desk seat with direct people responsibility in a regulated financial institution.
• Experience in electronic trading and OTC flow trading within regulated financial markets.
• Hands-on experience configuring an order or execution management system, including pricing and execution parameters.
• Fluency in derivatives concepts such as greeks, margin, basis, and funding, with the ability to discuss these with quantitative colleagues and translate them for clients.
• Credibility with institutional clients at the decision-maker level, with a demonstrated ability to win and retain relationships.
• Ability to meet FINMA fit and proper standards, including a clean regulatory and background record.
• Full professional proficiency in English, spoken and written.
• Willingness to relocate to Switzerland and work from the Zurich office.

• Additional languages.
• OTC derivatives trading experience across FX, digital assets, or related products.
• Deep knowledge of digital asset market structure, including perpetuals, funding, basis, centralized and decentralized venues, and stablecoin settlement.
• Options market making, structuring, or volatility trading experience.
• Experience taking a trading desk from an entrepreneurial setup to an institutional operating standard.
• Prior full P&L ownership of a trading product or service.
