Michael Page seeks a Senior HR Business Partner fluent in English and German to support retail management teams across Switzerland, combining strategic partnership with operational field presence.
This position serves as a strategic and operational HR Business Partner for retail management teams throughout Switzerland. The role is central to a successful and expanding retail organization, focusing on aligning people management practices with broader business objectives while maintaining a strong presence in the field.
Responsibilities
- Coach and guide managers on employee relations, performance management, talent development, organizational design, and workforce planning.
- Challenge and support business leaders to ensure people management practices align with company goals.
- Lead key HR initiatives and projects, ensuring successful rollout across the retail network.
- Collaborate with managers on recruitment, succession planning, talent reviews, and employee development.
- Monitor employee engagement and implement actions to improve employee experience and retention.
- Advise on labor law, HR policies, and best practices while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Manage employee relations cases and assist managers in resolving complex people issues.
- Analyze HR metrics and business indicators to provide recommendations and support decision-making.
- Work closely with HR Centers of Excellence and other stakeholders to deliver consistent and high-quality HR services.
- Build strong relationships with regional and store management teams through regular field visits.
- Travel weekly across German-speaking Switzerland to visit retail locations, support managers, and ensure alignment between HR and operations.
- Maintain a regular presence at the Lausanne headquarters to collaborate with the wider HR team and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, or similar role in a fast-paced retail, consumer goods, hospitality, or multi-site environment.
- Fluent in English and German (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of Swiss labor law and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and challenge managers at different organizational levels.
- Experience managing employee relations, performance management, organizational change, and talent development topics.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into practical HR solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating within a larger HR structure.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across German-speaking Switzerland on a weekly basis.
- Valid driving license and flexibility to regularly visit stores and operational sites.
