The International Organization for Migration seeks a Senior Internal Audit Consultant in Geneva to lead compliance and performance audits globally, requiring extensive travel and professional certification.
This position supports the Internal Audit Division by executing audits across finance, administration, and operations for IOM activities worldwide. The role involves significant travel to various duty stations, including challenging locations, to assess compliance, performance, and management processes.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and follow-up of audit assignments, whether conducted on-site or remotely.
- Identify and document reportable observations resulting from each audit engagement.
- Maintain detailed working papers in TeamMate+ that strictly adhere to Global Internal Audit Standards.
- Perform fact-finding inquiries and assist with investigations when necessary.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, audit, or a related field, combined with five years of relevant professional experience.
- Alternatively, a university degree in the aforementioned fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
- Possession of a professional certification from a recognized body, such as CIA, CISA, CPA, or ACCA.
- Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working within United Nations or international organization frameworks.
- Background in auditing or managing finance, supply chain, programs, or human resources at an international level.
- Working knowledge of Spanish.
