Roche seeks an intern for its pRED-MLOps team to research and prototype VibeOps workflows, aiming to integrate AI/ML utilities into everyday data and documentation tasks.
This internship is situated within the pRED-MLOps team, which falls under the Engineering - AI Enablement group in Roche’s Data and Digital Catalyst division. The primary objective is to transform AI and machine learning into standard tools for daily operations, ranging from data analysis to technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate best practices, tools, and methods for implementing VibeOps workflows within MLOps settings.
- Build small-scale prototypes that demonstrate VibeOps concepts in realistic MLOps scenarios.
- Create benchmarks to ensure the accuracy and correctness of developed prototypes.
- Recommend practical steps for embedding VibeOps principles into existing MLOps practices and software tools.
- Support the creation and documentation of tools, pipelines, and frameworks that improve the MLOps lifecycle.
- Participate in designing, building, and optimizing modern infrastructure components.
- Collaborate closely with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and IT infrastructure specialists.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program or graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biotechnology, or a related field within the last 12 months.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with scripting or automation, such as Bash.
- Fundamental understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI concepts.
- Strong interest in Machine Learning Operations and DevOps principles.
Nice to have
- Experience with MLOps platforms or tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI, GitHub, or Jenkins.
- Interest in or exposure to Agentic AI concepts.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies.
- Understanding of distributed systems and parallel computing frameworks.
