IT Operations Manager

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Senior IT Operations Manager in Lausanne to lead critical application teams, manage incidents, and optimize infrastructure performance.

The company is looking for an experienced leader to direct the daily operations of essential IT applications. This role focuses on guiding the technical team, ensuring system stability, and aligning operational strategies with broader business goals.

Responsibilities

• Direct and mentor the IT operations staff, fostering a cooperative and supportive workplace culture.
• Create and execute plans to improve the speed, reliability, and capacity of applications to support business needs.
• Supervise the setup, configuration, and upkeep of software systems, ensuring they follow industry best practices and fit within the existing IT framework.
• Manage incident response protocols to guarantee quick and efficient problem resolution, reducing negative effects on business activities.
• Build and sustain productive partnerships with application owners, business departments, and senior IT management.
• Work with other IT groups to ensure application alignment with architectural standards and oversee the operational budget.
• Spearhead continuous improvement projects to boost efficiency in application management and incident handling.
• Track application metrics, analyze usage trends, and proactively resolve emerging issues.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to secure cost-effective services that meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience in IT operations and incident management.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including a history of successfully managing and coaching IT teams.
• Solid technical foundation with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and critical application environments.
• Experience in drafting and enforcing IT policies and operational best practices.
• Strong proficiency in problem-solving frameworks such as Fishbone diagrams and the 5 Whys method.
• Proven track record of guiding teams through complex operational challenges and critical incidents.
• Extensive experience in vendor management, including contract negotiation with purchasing departments.
• Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in both French and English.
