Hexagon Robotics seeks an IT Support Engineer in Zürich to manage end-user support, Linux troubleshooting, and office infrastructure for a growing robotics team.
This position supports Hexagon Robotics’ mission to build humanoid robots for industrial use. The role is critical during a growth phase, initially reporting to the Director of Operations before a dedicated IT Manager position is created. The successful candidate will help define IT processes in a dynamic scale-up environment rather than maintaining an existing, rigid structure.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary support contact for over 150 staff members, managing the entire ticket lifecycle from initial triage through to resolution or escalation.
- Address technical incidents rapidly to meet strict service level agreements.
- Handle the complete IT aspect of employee onboarding and offboarding, including device imaging, account creation, access provisioning, and secure data removal.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of end-user hardware, covering procurement, inventory management, deployment, repairs, and eventual retirement of devices.
- Lead the technical setup for new office spaces, including site visits, network infrastructure planning, cabling, and workstation assembly.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their Linux-based workflows and ensure support solutions align with their specific technical needs.
- Act as the local liaison between the Zurich office and the global Hexagon IT organization, coordinating on security policies and shared systems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing end-user IT support in fast-paced or demanding environments.
- Essential proficiency in troubleshooting Linux operating systems, applications, and connectivity issues.
- Strong practical skills in diagnosing and resolving daily Linux desktop problems.
- Hands-on experience with laptop imaging, provisioning, and managing hardware lifecycles.
- Working knowledge of identity and access management processes for user transitions.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including Wi-Fi, switching, and office infrastructure setup.
- Fluent command of the English language.
