Lab Automation Specialist - Analytics

CSL Behring Vifor seeks a Mid-level Lab Automation Specialist to enhance laboratory efficiency and accuracy through the implementation of automated systems and workflows.

The company is looking for a professional to automate laboratory systems and workflows, aiming to improve overall lab efficiency, accuracy, and throughput. This role focuses on streamlining processes through technology integration and system optimization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation, rollout, and oversight of laboratory automation tools, such as liquid handlers, robotic arms, and LIMS.
• Work with the TES AI/automation group, scientists, engineers, and IT staff to spot and execute automation opportunities that simplify lab procedures.
• Create and refine automated workflows for sample preparation, analysis, and data management.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation hardware and software to guarantee reliability and continuous operation.
• Integrate automation solutions with current Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs), and data integration platforms.
• Educate laboratory staff on the correct operation of automated systems and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.
• Oversee complete automation projects, covering planning, validation, deployment, and post-implementation support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, engineering, or computer science.
• At least three years of experience in laboratory automation.
• Practical experience with automation platforms like Tecan, Hamilton, or Beckman Coulter.
• Proficient programming and scripting abilities, particularly in Python.
• Knowledge of ELN, LIMS, and data integration tools for managing laboratory data.
• Understanding of GLP/GMP standards and regulated laboratory environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
