Laboratory Manager (Environmental Chemistry)

Eurofins Scientific seeks a Laboratory Manager in Switzerland to oversee environmental chemistry operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee adherence to internal company policies, EHS regulations, and SAC-SINGLAS standards.
• Facilitate internal and external audits while managing corrective actions and driving quality enhancements.
• Oversee the creation, review, and upkeep of standard operating procedures, test methods, and lab records.
• Direct daily laboratory activities to guarantee efficient workflows, precise testing, and prompt sample handling.
• Supervise testing operations, equipment allocation, workspace organization, and resource usage.
• Examine technical data and test reports before they are signed off by authorized personnel.
• Organize proficiency testing, method verification, and quality control measures.
• Ensure all laboratory instruments are calibrated, maintained, and suitable for their intended use.
• Handle equipment servicing, calibration schedules, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Assist in introducing new equipment and test methods to expand laboratory capabilities.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve operational excellence and long-term goals.
• Drive improvement initiatives from concept to implementation to optimize workflows and performance.
• Identify and implement new work areas and test methods that align with business and client needs.
• Manage assigned sections to ensure effective resource planning, high performance, and protocol compliance.
• Train, assess, and manage staff to foster professional development and continuous improvement.
• Handle manpower planning, recruitment, and staff development to meet current and future operational needs.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration through leading by example.
• Act as a liaison between laboratory teams and management to align objectives, resolve issues, and ensure clear communication.
• Interact with clients to discuss test results, provide technical support, and maintain customer satisfaction.

Requirements
