Clariant seeks an Analytical Laboratory Manager to lead strategic governance and operations at its Campus Eiffel-Massy site in France, requiring strong analytical chemistry expertise and bilingual fluency.
Based at the Campus Eiffel-Massy location in Ile de France, this position provides strategic leadership and governance for laboratory operations. The manager will oversee the alignment of analytical methods, equipment, and quality control while driving innovation and modernization across the facility.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute laboratory strategy covering analytical methods, equipment, staff competencies, organizational structure, and quality control.
- Create and uphold governance frameworks to guarantee operational excellence.
- Promote innovation and modernize laboratory capabilities.
- Cultivate collaborative relationships within Clariant’s global network.
- Act as the main liaison between laboratory operations and other key functions such as R&D and production.
- Oversee external laboratory partnerships, including audits, performance monitoring, and contract negotiations.
- Develop and manage the laboratory budget to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Lead equipment investment planning and capital expenditure decisions.
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements with external laboratories and suppliers.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs within the laboratory.
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPI) to ensure operational targets are met.
- Provide leadership in the implementation and optimization of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Establish robust database infrastructure and document management systems.
- Drive digitalization initiatives to enhance laboratory productivity and data integrity.
- Track, analyze, and report on laboratory performance metrics.
- Implement corrective actions based on performance data.
- Foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in an international company.
- Deep knowledge of analytical chemistry.
- Fluency in English and French (C1 level required).
- Digital mindset with experience in SAP and LIMS.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Problem-solving abilities with a business orientation.
- Strategic thinking and vision-setting abilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
