LNG Originator / Senior LNG Originator

Metgroup seeks a Mid/Senior LNG Originator in Baar, CH, to manage LNG portfolios, structure supply deals, and drive commercial analysis for global gas and power sales.

This position supports the company's international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio by structuring competitive supply solutions, optimizing power generation assets, and managing LNG trading activities across global markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead mid- to long-term deal origination, structuring, execution, and ongoing management.
• Act as the primary market access contact for counterparties in the assigned region.
• Drive LNG transactions from initial due diligence and intelligence gathering through term sheet structuring and final execution, coordinating with internal and external teams aligned with the company's LNG strategy.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external industry players to source intelligence and identify new transaction opportunities.
• Assist in structuring related hedges, trades, and capacity positions alongside internal teams.
• Maintain daily coordination with internal colleagues and other Metgroup subsidiaries.

Requirements

• Minimum four years of experience in LNG and/or natural gas origination, including commercial analysis and the ability to apply insights across diverse scenarios.
• Proven track record in drafting, negotiating, and executing mid- to long-term LNG and/or natural gas contracts.
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in transaction structuring and financial modelling.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuously improving and innovating analytical approaches and methodologies.
• Experience preparing board proposals and executive-level presentations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to finding alternative solutions.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Global geographical focus with flexibility to support ad hoc LNG desk requirements.
