ABB seeks a Material Planner for its Quartino facility to manage end-to-end material planning, ensuring production continuity and supporting strategic supply chain targets within the Critical Power Business Line.
This position operates within the Integrated Production Unit (Modular) under the Smart Power Division. The role reports directly to the IPU Leader Stand Alone and is critical for maintaining business continuity while helping the unit meet its strategic objectives through effective supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete material planning process to guarantee uninterrupted production and assist the IPU leader in achieving strategic goals based on supply chain capabilities.
- Assist the IPU leader in setting short- and mid-to-long-term targets, communicate requirements to Planning & Forecasting teams, and maintain clear visibility of material forecasts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for material availability issues, resolving criticalities with relevant stakeholders to keep production lines running smoothly.
- Calculate and update inventory parameters such as safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies within ERP systems.
- Coordinate material planning activities with call-offs, working with operations buyers and services to convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders.
- Partner with buyers to optimize supplier performance, focusing on on-time delivery, minimum order quantities, quality, lead times, and flexibility.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience in material planning.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and the Microsoft Office Package.
- Familiarity with SAP, specifically the PP and MM modules.
