Mechanical Design Product Owner

Bobst seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Product Owner to lead the vision and roadmap for MCAD capabilities, driving digital transformation and continuous improvement across engineering teams.

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the mechanical design environment for the organization. The incumbent will define the strategic direction, structure the development roadmap, and spearhead the evolution of the design ecosystem to better serve engineering needs.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the product vision and strategic roadmap for MCAD tools.
• Manage the product backlog by prioritizing items based on business value and technical requirements.
• Promote the adoption of standardized modeling practices, configuration management, and efficient design workflows.
• Oversee the transition of the MCAD application portfolio, including the retirement of legacy systems.
• Convert feedback and challenges from mechanical engineers into clear, actionable user stories.
• Partner with IT and other departments to ensure data integrity and functional alignment.
• Guide the implementation of updates, enhancements, and new features within CATIA and 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Assess new software releases, conduct impact analyses, and coordinate testing with end-users.
• Track platform performance and user satisfaction to identify areas for optimization.
• Develop training resources and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions for users.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Prior experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within PLM or MCAD contexts.
• Hands-on proficiency with CATIA V5 and/or V6.
• Deep familiarity with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
• Strong grasp of mechanical design processes, CAD methodologies, and PLM principles.
• Ability to operate within agile frameworks and draft structured user stories.
• Fluent command of the English language.

Nice to have

• Experience configuring or administering 3DX modules such as Part Design, Assembly Design, Engineering Release, or Collaborative Lifecycle.
• Understanding of downstream engineering domains like manufacturing, FEA, or systems engineering.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) or specialized PLM/CATIA training.
• Proficiency in French.
