Model-Based Control Engineer (m/f/d)

WinGD seeks a Model-Based Control Engineer in Winterthur to develop control software for marine engines, ensuring compliance with SDLC and driving sustainable shipping technology.

This position focuses on advancing sustainable and environmental solutions for the maritime sector by leveraging cutting-edge technology. The engineer will play a key role in shaping the future of shipping through innovative control strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct requirements analysis and create detailed technical specifications.
• Analyze controlled processes with non-linear and time-varying dynamics.
• Design control software strategies using Model-Based Design approaches.
• Implement, verify, troubleshoot, and maintain high-quality control software.
• Ensure compliance with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) throughout the V-model process.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers for timely project delivery.
• Collaborate effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• MSc in Control Engineering or equivalent, preferably with a focus on internal combustion engines or mechanical engineering.
• Strong expertise in advanced model-based control methodologies.
• Proven experience in model-based design and development of MIMO systems, with prior application in internal combustion engine systems being highly advantageous.
• Experience in developing embedded real-time applications for distributed system architectures.
• Solid proficiency in software design and implementation using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
• Very fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Git and the Atlassian Jira/Confluence workspaces is considered a plus.
• German language skills are considered an advantage.
