Postdoc Position in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmacokinetics

Swiss TPH seeks a Postdoc in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmacokinetics to develop LC-MS/MS methods for studying antimalarial activity against schistosomiasis in mouse models.

This position sits within the Helminth Drug Development Unit at the Department of Medical Parasitology and Infection Biology. The successful candidate will contribute to a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project by analyzing the efficacy of antimalarials against schistosomiasis using murine models.

Responsibilities

• Create fast, selective, and highly sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) protocols.
• Measure compound concentrations in plasma samples obtained from mice.
• Analyze and interpret pharmacokinetic data to understand drug behavior.

Requirements

• Hold an MSc degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrate practical expertise in LC-MS/MS operation and analytical method development.
• Possess strong, hands-on laboratory competencies.
• Communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Ability to communicate in French and/or German.
