Principal Scientist Evidence Development

Philip Morris Services SA seeks a Principal Scientist in Neuchâtel to lead non-clinical study strategies for smoke-free product development. This hybrid role requires a PhD and extensive R&D experience.

As a key member of the R&D team, the Principal Scientist will design and execute complex, hypothesis-driven non-clinical studies that support business objectives and help replace traditional cigarettes with innovative products.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed study proposals, designs, and plans that address specific business questions and communication goals.
• Oversee the multi-functional execution of research projects, ensuring scientific rigor and resolving issues promptly.
• Manage third-party vendors, such as Contracted Research Organizations, for study implementation when necessary.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
• Perform comprehensive literature reviews to identify new opportunities and compile total evidence summaries.
• Share scientific insights at external conferences and professional events.
• Contribute to and lead the drafting of scientific publications.
• Stay updated on scientific advancements to inform innovative strategies and support other research initiatives.

Requirements

• A PhD in Biological Sciences.
• At least five years of post-doctoral experience in non-clinical or translational research within an R&D setting.
• Specialized knowledge in health fields such as neuroscience, pulmonary health, cardiovascular health, or oral health.
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
